Done with the Start/Restart Roller Coaster

Thursday, November 05, 2020

Starting over is never easy. It seems since the beginning of 2020 I have been on this Start/Restart roller coaster with my health. I have bought into V Shred and Noom. Neither seems to be helping. Is it the programs or is it me? I will say it’s a little bit of both. Both of these programs attribute the Paleo Diet to being a weightloss plan. In doing so, their meal plans cut out many things that I can have and incorporate things that trigger my autoimmune disease.

On both plans, I have gained weight. When I started in January, I was 170 lbs. I am now 184.8 as of this morning. Yes, almost 5 lbs is from eating like crap and giving into the Halloween candy. You would think as much as my back, hips and legs hurt or as red as my face has become, I would stop. Nope. l am guilty of justifying bad eating habits.

After doing a workout this morning and seeing the before/after pictures of some instagram people I follow, I decided to stop the Start/Restart roller coaster. I can’t do it anymore. It’s exhausting. I took some measurements after my workout and have resolved to do better. I am done paying for things that just won’t work with my mindset and health issues. It’s time to do this my way. I have lost this weight before by simply just tracking my nutrition and workouts. I am going to do this again. I do not want to end 2020 like I started it.

(Excuse the messy bathroom)

So here is Day 1 of the rest of my life. I’m sure I will stumble and fall flat on my face, but it’s no longer going to “restarting” when that happens. It’s going to be just picking myself back up and continuing. There will be no more of these entries where I have to “restart”. Yes, there will be entries of my progress, achievements and failures but no more “restart”.

Have a great rest of your day everyone!

Sometimes I just "follow the breadcrumbs" That's a term a friend made up for when you see on a friend's feed that they commented on a blog and you follow to check it out.

So here I am and I really LIKE your blog. You have described what so many have experienced.
There are millions of sparkers here and as far as I can see if it weren't for the "breadcrumbs" I never would have read this. We do not have 1 friend or team in common

I am newly returned after being MIA for 3 years and old enough to recognize when a trend will not end well. Hope it's OK that I added you as a friend. I am impressed by your honesty in posting your photos and look forward to following your progress to success.

Good luck!!! I’m in the same boat. I had a rude awakening this week that I needed to admit it was time to stay on a healthy eating path. I hope we both see success!
