A Day in the Life of Two Old(er) People...Nov 4 Election hangover

No, not because I stayed up late watching the returns, but because I had a "bad" feeling about the outcome that I wanted and just couldn't get to sleep. Working on my mood and attitude today. If I can get outside to do some yard work that will help, I know. emoticon

Beautiful weather for early November. After 3 snows towards the end of October (very unusual for us), I'm loving every minute of this. We planted 50 tulip bulbs yesterday--10 bulbs in 5 clumps. They're red and pink. Looking forward to some great color in the Spring. As the two of us get older, it's harder to get up and down from hands and knees, which you kinda have to do in order to plant tulip bulbs. emoticon Thankfully, since we can give one another a hand, we made it, but it was touch and go there for a minute or two! Not a pretty sight, I'm sure, but do I really care? Not so much! LOL Today is to be another nice day and it might reach 70 again.

I have an appointment for a hair cut this afternoon. emoticon Wearing it short means it's easy to take care of (in other words, I don't have to waste time fussing with it.), but also that I need it cut more often. After the shutdown last Spring when it had grown so much and I resorted to trimming it myself, I now don't want to take any chances on not getting it cut when I can.

    So exciting to look forward to those tulips in the spring. No matter what outcome was hoped for, I think most of us will be happy to have this election over and done. My hope is that people can treat each other with kindness whether they agree or not.

    I'm sure your tulips will be beautiful in the spring. I've not had luck with them coming up - only one or two out of 20. It is getting harder to get up and down gracefully, I notice each spring a little more effort has to happen on my part when I put the flower bed in. Enjoy the new haircut - I always love how I feel coming out of the hair salon.

    Can I cheer you up Jeannie? I am sure you get up much more elegantly than I do ! I sure hope things end soon, this is really sad. Speaking as someone who lives in another country.I've always found something to respect about presidents before Trump,not this time not one redeeming feature.

    You tulips will be beautiful in the spring. I should think about putting a few in my garden as they don't need a lot of care. That's my kind of flower garden. It has been a nice week weather wise. Our first snows were on 10-14 and totaled 8" Then just snow showers afterwards. Way too early. Next week looks to be cold and winter setting in.

    WOOHOO on the warm warm weather. Here we've been in the 30's and 40's but tomorrow thru Monday they're saying low 60's. I'll be out in my tee shirts no doubt. ENJOY!! ENJOY!!!

    I am very burnt out from election night. Hubby and I are going to eat something light for dinner and off to bed we go. Our son is sick right now and we don't want to catch it. Got to keep our strength to fight those germs. UGH.. Praying for our country and the election ends quickly for us all. Hugs,

    The tide has turned and the water looks blue, at least for now. Let's keep our fingers crossed that there's no more pollution added to the festering swamp. My stomach ache has subsided a bit, and like you, I think I'll sleep better tonight.

    Maybe you can post some photos of the tulips when they bloom in the spring. We had one big snow the Monday before Halloween, but the past few days it's been very nice. I have snow birds (juncos) in the front yard again this afternoon, so we're probably in for more bad weather.

    I love your posts and wish you could be convinced to post more frequently. It's so nice to "hear" from you again. Stay safe. Be well. emoticon

    I didn't watch anything last nigh but this afternoon all I want to do was watch my soap, and nope to come on an half hour later, and nope then they changed it to when this was over for the afternoon, and just when I gave up on seeing it, here it is, and I know hubby want me to help him back in a load of bales. Always happens. And I am not happy about the outcome so far either.

    I agree, the getting up and down ain't very pretty, but I do not care! I have a new kneeling thing that I can use to push up with or turn it over and sit on it. I have not had a chance to use it yet. Glad you got the bulbs planted. I know it will be pretty next spring.
