Review of 12th October - 1st November
Monday, November 02, 2020
October turned out to be a very rough month. I came down with a cold with the fun side effect of dizziness, caused by congestion in my ears.
I am only now starting to see past it, I guess I have become more used to it.
The biggest impact has been I had to stop doing my walking in place. Primarily because I couldn't balance, then also because I was suffering a severe lack of energy.
I am hoping I can start building up again this week whilst I have some time off work. Some activity really helps my ankles be less swollen, for one thing.
I think here is as good a place as any to make a point of mentioning that any steps I am doing are indoors. So they take concerted effort to accumulate. This is why 2k steps a day is a challenging enough goal right now.
Anyway, over the last couple of days I have reflected on my goals and I am now happy with some timescales for hitting certain milestones. I have also decided on some rewards for hitting these milestones, which I am looking forward to!
My first goal is to get under 100kg by Christmas. The reward for that will be a new fluffy bathrobe. I do normally use pounds, but this is just a way to have a reachable milestone this year.
The most important way I am going to reach my goals is by acknowledging that most of my success will come from reducing my calorie intake. I HAVE TO EAT LESS, end of story!
I am hoping that the fact we have got our freezer up and running is going to help me with portion control on things I generally struggle to control, like bread products. It will also give us more variety of foods for meals and maybe stop us looking for variety through snacks. I say "us" because we tend to have situations where hubby or I has a snack and then that makes the other want something too! So we need to improve things as a collective, especially whilst we are staying home so much.
So, I am hoping this is the turning point I have been looking for all year. I haven't weighed myself today or last Monday, but I will be doing so next Monday after what I hope will be a more successful week.
