60 days on my new job at TJ Maxx

Hi every body!
Sorry I haven't blogged for a long time...but I've been busy!
After I left my last part-time job at LA Fitness in pain... I landed an awesome, sweet part-time job very close to where I live! For those who don't know me, I suffered a stroke 6 years ago and suffered brain damage. I lost a prestigious job at a fortune 500 company and I'm currently receiving Social Security Disability.
I really, really appreciate the financial support of Social Security Disability ....but disability doesn't pay much...and I have a mortgage and a car payment. I'm allowed to work a little part-time in addition to receiving Social Security. Since I have a disability I am limited on what I can do. I worked at the Amazon Warehouse, but I got injured. I worked as a cashier at Target, but I was told I was too slow.
In July, I as you know, if you followed my blogs, I got a job at my gym, LA Fitness at the Front Desk! I was excited at first, but the job wasn't as stellar as it seemed to be. Due to COVID I was told there was a lot of cleaning required...but I didn't know that mean janitorial work. Most of the time I ended up just cleaning than being at the front desk, and so it was a hard job. Not only on my body, but they didn't have any breaks during the 5 hour shift, which is actually required by law. I don't know how they get away with it. I ended up hurting my back, so I left. I still work out at the gym, but I'm glad I don't work there anymore.
Anyhoo, I worked with my Vocational Counselor again (I've been working with them to find all my part-time jobs after my stroke) and I found a really sweet job. It's at TJ Maxx and it's the closest commute ever. It's right at the next exit from where I live.
TJ Maxx isn't as busy as Target, and I am able to manage things. I love my job, it's really fun and interesting. Most days I work at the Jewelry counter showing Jewelry. When people decide to buy, I bring it up to the front register. Other days, I clean carts, or be a greeter, where I flip numbers/count the people that come in and leave the store since we only are allowed to have 1/4 capacity, which is 70 people.
I love my work! And now I just completed 60 days now at TJ Maxx. I really, really love my job at TJ Maxx and I hope to work here for a long, long time!
