Northern Colorado Wildfires

Thursday, October 22, 2020

I have been very heavy hearted today more so than the last couple of months. The states largest fire in Colorado state history, the Cameron Peak fire is now at 206,000 acres for the time being it has slowed down a bit. Last week the Left Troublesome fire began yesterday it was 19,000 acres. With the high winds last night the fire exploded to 125,000 acres overnight, it is now 170,000 as of 10pm MT! A lady firefighter who has fought other wildfires said she was afraid when she saw the wall of flames racing down the mountains. An official said that the fire was burning 6,000 acres an hour yesterday. The town of Estes Park is directly in its path and the whole town raced to evacuate today. There were people also racing in with trailers to help people load up their horses and other farm animals and get them out of harms way. The East Troublesome fire is 11 miles away from merging with the Cameron Peak fire. Estes Park is surrounded by the East Troublesome to the south and west and the Cameron Peak to the north. Officials have said that they don't have enough resources to envelop the East Troublesome fire. I have cried so much today for all the people affected, I have cried for the the people racing in to help people get their animals out one ranch had 200 horses alone to get out and they are now safe thank goodness. I cry for all the wildlife.

This picture was taken by a photographer this morning at sunrise at Lake Estes in the town of Estes Park. I pray this guy makes it through this.

Praying for all the firefighters everywhere

And they say the East Troublesome was human caused. Estes Park and Granby are being evacuated. Fire season is long and hard this year.
