Up early at 0500, woke on my own to greet the morning and weigh!
Still at 200, but have been sick, so not much I could do about it. It was a stomach bug, so I didn't eat much, thought I would lose, but didn't. I did drink a bunch of gatorade because my blood pressure kept dropping and the problem that DD12 had was getting dehydrated. Didn't want that!! Feeling much better today, so planning to work out after a while. Want to wait till DH wakes up so I can have a shower afterwards.
I'm going to be easy on myself about weight. I'm doing a lot of strength training now so I'm going to keep an eye on my measurements as well as how my clothes fit. I found some great workouts that I just love as well as a yoga basics class taught by my local bariatrics group online (private access, have to be a part of our group) that is gentle and I just love it. A lot of the strength training is very active, I alternate it with the more static stuff, because it gets my heartrate up, so I don't know if it will balance out the weight loss or what. So, I am going to give myself grace on the pounds and concentrate on how I feel and how the clothes fit and the inches lost. I've got an excel spreadsheet on weight filled out for the rest of the year, with a graph that DH put in for me (cause I don't know how, lol). I'm going to put in a page for measurements for the rest of the year and then put in pages for each quarter of next year as they come.
I'm making crock pot pumpkin lattes, yum!!! They are the only homemade pumpkin lattes I like, only problem is that it makes a LOT! I halve the recipe. Here it is, if you are interested. No, that is not a typo about the vanilla. Again, I halve it, it makes a LOT, so it would be half of that (I guesstimate at how much it is, and it still turns out great!):
Last night I did not want to go to bed. I was craving coffee and wanting to stay up later. LOL. I think because of staying up most of the night on Friday night. I didn't, but man was I craving that coffee! I stayed up a little later, till my usual bed time, but at 0500 this morning I woke up going, I can have coffee, yes! LOL.
I started back on my Proverbs 31 Bible study. I'm not sure where she is going with some of what she is having me look up... it seems completely unrelated, and tedious. But I'm doing it. It may take a few days to get through day 2 with all the looking up she has on it, but I'll do it at my own pace. After 30 minutes I was getting aggravated, so I put it down. I will probably go ahead and pick it up later and try to finish day 2 today, but if I get aggravated even just a little, I'll wait till tomorrow. I still have to do my Bible reading and journaling for today. I want to get started on something with the kids too. I think we have the perfect book. We aren't going to church right now, so something at home is in order. I am going to start reading s short devotional at breakfast, if I can, during the weekdays. And during the month of December I have a reading plan that I will read to them at night for Christmas, during the entire month.
I can start my running program again for now. Till my next eye surgery. So I'm going to take a few days and see how that I do with fast walking, if I am in a place to start running training or if I need a week to catch back up. Probably take the week to catch back up, and next week start my running program from None 2 Run. It is a 12 week program, and encourages you that if you have a rough week, repeat the week, don't force yourself on. I really like the way they approach running.
And great news on my knee, it it doing great with the injections! Just on injection 3 (series of 5) and I can feel the difference! It is truly amazing! It is awesome to feel the difference in how great my knee feels now! It is not so wonderful to get injections every Friday, but the results are worth it.
Already planning Christmas, lol. I made the happy mistake of listening to a Christmas song. Now I am in the Christmas spirit! I think this is the first year this will happen, but the Christmas decorations will come out after Halloween!! I am going to make it happen!! I want to buy some lights to put outside on the front porch this year too! We don't normally do that, but this year I want to. Just a strand of larger lights wrapped around the porch. If we can swing it. It is not the presents I am looking forward to (well maybe a little, because I'm planning on getting myself some face care stuff for my night routine, lol) but the atmosphere! The lights, the decorations, the anticipation, the family togetherness, the cooking together, all the things! I'm going to do a Christmas planner this year!! It looks wonderful! And it will be something that I can look back on, or the kids can, and see the memories we made. I love it! Go to avirtuouswoman.org to find it in her free library, you can also just search for holiday planner and sign up on the link and she will email it to you for free, for a limited time. It is a pdf, so you can print as many of the pages for journaling and such as you want. Be warned, it prints a TON of recipe pages in the back if you just print it as is. I made that mistake. Just print the pages you want it my suggestion. I'm not huge on planners, I do use one (thank you friend! You know who you are!) but I've never been huge on them. This year as soon as the holiday planning begins I'm making it a priority!
Speaking of planners, I'm going to need a new one soon-ish. I love the one I have, but it goes Mon-Sun, and that is confusing at times. Any suggestions for one that has the full month page, and goes Sun-Mon, and has 30 minute blocks of time? What I like about this one is the planning pages at the beginning of each month, but that is not a must. Pockets at the beginning of each month would be great!
So, suggestions for great planners, and what are your Christmas traditions? I'd love some ideas on things we can do this year and start doing every year!!
