Well, today, we prepped veggies for the freezer. We decided we need to get a few things in the freezer for this season. We put in pole beans (my favorite), cut okra, yellow corn taken off the cob, and yellow squash. It will be next spring before we will be able to get these things on a regular basis. Also, i keep reading that we may have another shortage on items we need, including some foods. We have stocked our freezer well when we find meats on sale, we have fresh fish frozen, shrimp, I purchase bell peppers when really reasonable, cut up for use in dishes and freeze on a sheet plan then store in freezer bags. I also do this with celery. I have my pantry well stocked also. All my flour, meals, sugar, etc. Canned items that we use the most, etc. I have canned milks, powdered buttermilk mix, etc. If we had to we would not need to go the grocery for a number of months. We have rearranged our freezer where we can locate everything easily for what we need at any time. Went to Dollar Tree today and stoked up on chicken and beef stock. I have placed their brand next to the ones at our grocery and they read the same. Just save quite a pit of money on their brand. We have a stock of Carolina Gold Rice and good quality grits we get on line. I am a member of the Rancho Gordo Bean Club and once every quarter I get a box of beans, with sa special treat that might be a special spice, etc, along with a newsletter giving me information on the type of beans and some outstanding recipes on these. As they are freshly dried beans you can tell the different between them and the ones you get at the grocery stores. Hubby will stop at the store when we need a loaf of bread or some milk. We manage to save a lot of money on our grocery bill
