Life is funny. It is all about what happens inbetween our first breath and our last.
Once long ago, my three children were cute little toddlers.
This is our youngest when we lived in the country.
Walks-holding a little hand.
Going at a child's pace, steady but slow.
Making memories everywhere we were to go.
Being with those you love to make those times special.
My husband and I enjoy being together and have taken many walks.
There was a time when my legs were swift – and carried me far.
From a distance I could hear him call:
“Hey! Slow down! Wait for me!”
I assured him we were not in a contest, nor a big race,
That it is ok to go at our own pace!
Now many years later, things that once were have changed.
Taller than me- his pace has become a fast gait..
I'm just happy to be with him and have him for my mate!
He looks over his shoulder to see if I am still there.
He stops and heads back my way.
I smile and tell him it is ok. We are not in a contest or in a big race.
We may go slower--but it's important to go at our own pace!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Things that once were do not remain the same.
