Bronchitis and Beyond

These past 2 weeks I had and still have bronchitis. It started as a cold and little cough. I still went to work (half days) as a school aide in a classroom divided into 2 classes because of social distancing, and of course wearing a mask. As my nights got worse, I decided I needed to stay home in case it turned into bronchitis. I’ve had it before and even though it has been many years I usually get it after a cold. My cough got worse and I have just stayed home. I’ve been off for over a week now. I had cough and lots of phlegm and mucus but no fever or soreness. I get tired because I don’t sleep well, and I get a headache when I have a bad coughing spell but it goes away quickly. I called my doctor for an appointment about 6 days ago, but they wanted me to do a phone appointment with another doctor. He said it sounded like allergic bronchitis and he prescribed me a few things. They have helped but I think a generic Nyquil and Dayquil have helped more. Last night I slept well without anything. Today, I am still coughing but not as much and feeling much better. The exercise I have done is just walking or jogging in place for 10 minutes. I just couldn’t do anymore. I haven’t eaten regular because I have not been very hungry.
Now that I am feeling better, I am going to be careful to eat only what I need to and to move more. I plan on getting on my glider by the end of the week. I know I am not completely well but am on the upswing. Yesterday, I washed the covers I have on my couch and chairs. Today, I will do a little laundry, clean all my sinks, and change my bedding.
We all take feeling good for granted and I am just so thankful to be feeling good today. Looking forward to being able to get out of the house again. Thankful for my children who all live near me and call or go to the store for me.
