September Review and October Goals

It's been awhile since I wrote a blog. I took the month of September off from my challenge group, although I did spark here and there to keep up with my leader duties on the Aspire and Inspire team. Thinking back over the month now, it was a pretty good one, although very hot here. My exercise mostly consisted of doing water exercises at the pool about three mornings a week, and also a little ST. I twisted my knee and it hurt for most of the month - the pool really helped it though, and now it mostly feels better with some stiffening overnight. I did start taking some walks around the neighborhood with our puppy, Lizzie. Training her has been fun but somewhat challenging! She has met and played with a couple puppies in the neighborhood, so we are gradually socializing her. When she gets her last set of shots tomorrow, she will be able to go to the dog park!
I wanted to get back to writing in my online journal and I did better than I had in previous months, writing 15 different days with a little lapse mid-month.
It was a month of birthdays with my dad's in Heaven on the 3rd, dh's birthday on the 14th and mine on the 30th, so we had a few celebrations, which included a "Lobster Fest" at our friends' Karen and Denny's since we weren't able to travel to Maine this summer.
We stayed home all month and did normal things - I golfed and did some watercolor painting with my friend, Mary.
I wish I could say I did fantastic with my healthy eating, but I did not. I went up and down the same two pounds, and am 5-6 pounds higher than my lowest weight.
Finally at the end of the month, we researched and found a new Class C RV to buy. We pick it up this Thursday, so I am excited about traveling again. We already planned a short trip for the end of October.

Now here it is October 6th already, and I need to get going on writing my goals for the month for my Aspire and Inspire team BSG challenge. I obviously want to lose the five pounds I gained, so I have been trying to figure out what needs to change in order to do that. I came up with my mental attitude needs to become more positive, which will lead to more motivation, and to become more active, I need to work on a productivity goal. I do too much sitting while watching the puppy!

So, here is my plan - starting just a little late - better late than never as the saying goes!

For my goal of positivity, I will

1. Get back to meditation and prayer first thing in the morning to start my day off right.
2. Watch and read less political news and spend less time on social networks.
3. Take time throughout the day to be mindful and grateful. Write about my gratitudes in my journal.

For my goal of productivity, I will

1. Make and follow through with a weekly and daily plan for doing household chores and
organizational tasks.
2. Plan and make healthy keto meals.
3. Take walks or go to the pool at least three times a week.
4. Do strength training exercises at home 2-3 times a week, until I decide if I am going back to the gym.
5. Continue to write in my online Penzu journal.
6. Keep up with deleting emails, so they don't pile up!
