Does anyone use Bitesnap: Photo Food Journal (available apple & android)?
I saw this in a blog today. It looks interesting and actually has good reviews.
You take a picture of your food, it determine what you have and approximate amounts, you can edit amounts.

I am not sure how accurate it is, e.g. how does it know if you cooked that chicken by roasting it, frying it in a pan, or deep frying it...... But I like the idea.

So I am curious if anyone has tried it and how accurate they found it to be (e.g. did you weight your items and compare them to what Bitesnap said, did Bitesnap accurately pick up ingredients, etc).

Update: I tried this and IMO it is nowhere near ready for prime time.

Examples: Picture of multigrain chips and salsa, see the guesses it gave of what was on the plate (note I took 2 different pictures, the second one had more chips thinking that might help it figure things out better).

So then I tried my typical food that I thought would be difficult, Salad with eggs and sunflower seeds and dressing. See the guesses is made of what this food was. I choose salad, then it gave me more choices of toppings, but I think I would be faster typing items in and I still didn't get to where it said how much (it guesses, you correct it).
I wasn't impressed at all.

OK, I tried this and IMO it is worthless. Maybe I’d a lot of people use it and correct everything it might have more accurate answers. I will edit the blog above to show how poorly it worked.

Never heard of it, but I don't use many apps. Great idea if it works.

    Thanks for sharing.
