Daughter's 1st Job

Thursday, September 24, 2020

My daughter got her 1st job. She is working at the coffee shop in the local grocery store. This is a great fit for her since she loves coffee. Her first day of making drinks, she text me during her break to say I should come so she can make me a drink. Honestly her request did surprise me. I did because she asked me to go. Unfortunately I made her nervous and she forgot how to make the drink. When she got home, she admitted to having forgotten everything being I made her nervous. Sounds like she did very well with other customers. She works today again. I told her I will stay away while she is working (no matter what she texts me on her break). I want to support her. Sometimes that means doing it from afar and that okay.

After she has been there awhile, she will remember how to make anyone's coffee, including mom.

Frustrating when things go wrong with your memory, I am finding out more and more.

It's so cool watching them at their first job, but yeah it can make them nervous. But you are there at home to listen which even if she doesn't say anything, we both know it's a HUGE comfort.

The most important thing is she knows you love her and she wants to make you proud of he. I know you are and I can see the love you have for each other.
