Puppy Baby Yoga

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

This evening after I got my 1000 of children in bed (I'm pretty sure there are that many, they just don't appear all at once), I decided it was a good time to do my yoga routine.

So I go into the Florida room, lay out my mat, and open up the yoga app I've been using on my phone. I have my headphones in, so none of it can be heard and I start my routine.

My 5 year old son escaped from his room and came in and I tell him to go back to bed. He promptly ignores me and grabs a mat and lays it out next to mine. I give in because maybe this will help him sleep right?

Now I must remind you that he can't hear any instructions so he follows along based off of what he sees demonstrated. I can hear him announce every yoga pose we do. I am impressed he knows the names. Occasionally he will do kids yoga with his sister, but I didn't think he actually learned the names of the poses. However, he can name every one.

That was until we had to do "happy baby" and he calls it "puppy baby." I find that amusing and assume he remembered it wrong.

Then he says, "See? Look! Puppy baby!" He is pointing at my phone. I look and in teeny tiny letters in the corner of the screen I see the words "Happy Baby." He didn't remember the names of the yoga poses, but was reading them off the screen.

I am proud that my homeschooled kindergarten read all that though. So there is that.
