First day of fall 2020

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

So this just happened - today is the first day of fall - somehow I missed spring and summer (as did many of you) - it was all jumbled up into nothingness - each day the same because we just couldn't do anything.

That said I did begin to tackle my clutter and made some good headway - I still went to the grocery store 4 out of 7 days to get groceries (I like to buy ingredients the day of for dinner)

What I didn't do - I haven't exercised as the Y that I go to is completely closed (other Ys much farther away are semi open but nope not mine) - I haven't cross stitch but maybe 2 hours since March (one of my passions which looking back I've obviously been in a funk about this "sheltering" because I have time (mild depression over this whole thing maybe?) - and I haven't gone back to Boy Scouts

Speaking of Boy Scouts - I did have a meet up with them back in July - they still haven't had decent meetings yet and did want me to continue which I said when we have regular meetings I'd be back - but I haven't turned in to any of the online meetings and quite honestly the more I'm away from it the more I don't care (found out some other things from another leader about what's been going on with the new leader and his "style of leading" the may have a hand in my thinking I'm sure)

Fall - today is the first day - we've had some cool weather this past week so I'm guessing that will be the kick start into the leaves beginning to turn. I need to get myself in gear - especially if my Y doesn't open up til the first of the year - to go out to my local park and just walk (and not use the excuse I don't have time) Happy Fall everyone!

Anxiously awaiting the leaf change. emoticon

Sometimes it's the season in life to turn a corner, create fond memories of your Boy Scout days to look back on, and focus on something else you find enjoyable.

I, too, have not cross stitched or done any sort of needlework for quite a while. I used to belong to a Welcome Wagon special interest group where we learned new types of stitching: blackwork, trapunto, etc. We moved away and I haven't found any such group here. I doubt they would be meeting anyway. Who has a home where people could distance themselves six feet from each other?
