Plodding along slowly

Thursday, September 17, 2020

It was a nice day at home. Especially with a frig. What a treat. I even made a little pot of chili today and can have it again tomorrow. Now I just need to find a small enough container to get it in the frig. I finished 11 of the blocks for the wedding quilt today. One more to make and I can put it together and a half dozen fall colored masks for a friend. Love that people need them to match clothes now.

Also did some fiddling around with taking out trash and recycling. Not always fun things to do but need to be done anyway. Have several broken down boxes that I'll put in the bin tomorrow. Only so much carrying can happen in one day.

Thank fulls
1. nice day for sitting outside
2. getting to stay home and actually have some left overs
3. other people children...had several kids want to pet Buck today. So I hold him and let them pet his head. He doesn't much like people.

I've been told tomorrow is Fri. So hair and post office are on my list and then home to see if I can put 8 of those blocks together. I'd sure like to get that off my list of things to do.

Doesn't take long without the conveniences of life for us to really appreciate them, does it?!? Whether it's a refrigerator, hot water, or central heat, there are so many things I take for granted right up until the day something goes wrong with them and I realize many folks live like that ALL the time. Those small blessings add up!

So sounds like a great day to me. Weather must be nice enough to sit outside, you have a small fridge to keep some cold food happy and not spoil.
I haven't thought about having masks to match clothes, I got some white ones that go with everything. I have thought about making Jim and I each one for Halloween and Christmas. However, as things stand now, not sure at all if we will be needing them, as we have no things happening for a group of people---so may for go making them. We have one couple on our block come back from Mn. the other day. They live at a campground in Becker for the summer. The place closes down before the end of Sept. so they always get back early. The daughter of a friend is down now to take back to Kansas the stuff her mom wants from here . She is putting her place up for sale. Hopefully, she will be able to sell her place, as she has a newer place about 7 years old.
I did get some sewing done tonight, I sewed the 4 pieces of strips I cut last night for scrunchies, and pulled the elastic through. Some sometime tomorrow hopefully will get them done. i need to still finish the table runner, that is a project to finish too.
We went to the grocery store we were there it seemed forever, but after we paid the bill, Jim says to me " that was a record--over $200+ yikes, but it has been awhile since we have done a big grocery shopping, and we needed some things that don't get bought often. I am still in shock, didn't think it would be that high.

Good progress. Only having one block to go on the quilt is great. Never thought about seasonal masks!
