Drinking Water as the Weather Gets Cooler

Wednesday, September 16, 2020

As the days got warmer and I worked outside, there was no problem drinking eight glasses of water. The last two days, drinking water has been a struggle. The weather is not as hot and the mornings are cool. This is an unforeseen problem. For the last two days, I have not met my water goal.

Looks like I need to be creative but if anyone has any ideas, I'll welcome them. And it had seemed so EASY.

I simply try to reduce my intake a little by spacing it out more throughout the day.

I have enough medical problems that I have to take a number of medicines. So I drink 16 oz. of water with my thyroid med. When I take my other morning meds, I drink another 16 oz. And I drink 16 oz. with the evening meds. Then I fill a 24-oz. thermos with water and drink that at least once throughout the day. So I get at least 9 cups of water every day, sometimes more if I fill the thermos again.

Easy peasy. And I log the points for the water at the beginning of the day. Since I do not like to lie, that is a big incentive to actually drink the water!

I am the same way! I can down the water like nothing in the summer months. Winter, not as much. One would think I could down it faster then being the air is so dry. I play a game with myself. I have a travel mug that I fill. My goal is to get that done before I have lunch. If I can do that, I get my water in for the day. Mind games.

I find that as long as I have it besides me it gets drank. The more I drink it,, so strangely the more thirstier for just water I become. Soda never does it for me now (Likely it never did!)..

Have you tried a fruit fusion bottle? If you lived close by I'd give you mine. You put fruit in the tube that goes into the middle of the bottle, so it can flavor it nicely. I am reacting to fruits, but at first it was NEAT!

I have the same problem! I always have a water bottle open in front of me so I can sip slowly over the day instead of a whole glass at a time. I also love tea and hot lemon water as the weather cools down!

Get a gallon jug and mark off the oz. I am visual and need to see how well I have done. I know there are containers you can buy that show your progress. Good luck!!
