Sometimes I Just Need to Tread Water

Wednesday, September 16, 2020

So burned out so I'll just try to keep meme-ing my way out of it. I could have sworn I saw a headline that said something like...America is burning and drowning! Who doesn't need a little more horror when a pandemic is going on? The good news is...we're all in this together which means I guess many of us are falling apart...even the glamorous and most affable.

Plus, many of us are becoming more tech savvy so there's that! I totally get all the lingo and am a pro at helping my kids. emoticon

Oh and the kids...this quality time together under the same roof is precious and must be savored. It feels good to be so needed by a tween and teen.

I have decided this is one of those times I need to just tread water and try to stay afloat. I am not swimming gracefully. I count my blessings and I know there are benefits to the social distancing excuse (like I only see my challenging mother with witnesses around outside!). I exercise. I eat healthy as much as possible. Just some days are still hard so I just tread water and stay afloat and I know in my heart there will be days again where I swim and gently float and can enjoy some soothing waves as opposed to tsunamis.I know I will appreciate every good thing so much more. For now, I just tread water and keep the faith. Keep treading. As Churchill says..."If you're going through hell, keep going!"

Oh for sure we’re in this all together. Some have it more together than I do! That’s for sure.

OMG! LMBO @ the parent picture! LOL OH MY GOSH.

LOL on hearing “Mom” for the 7,567th time! Yup, that’s the look.

    Hang in there, dear. emoticon

We used to have a dog named Sparky so that one had me laughing out loud too!
Thanks for the pickup. These laughs are all that are getting us through some days!! Well, that and the booze...

Treading water is a great way to describe it. And I love the Churchill quote.

The Jennifer Aniston meme caused me to laugh out loud. My family is pretty much convinced I've gone off the deep end. That's ok...I can swim to the shallows. emoticon
Pink Floyd says it best. I have become comfortably numb.

Thanks for the laughs. Stay safe. Be well. emoticon emoticon

Churchill really was a BOSS! 2020 is tough! Lots of high anxiety moments. Hoping we can all get through this 🙏 🙌

Churchill said it best! I really love the last two memes and have totally felt that way many times in my life. I totally believe that all we can do is take one day at a time, take care of ourselves as best we can, and wait it out. It feels a little to me like being pregnant, only not knowing when or even if the baby will ever be born. You are truly not in this alone and it seems to me like you're doing a really great job! My daughter with the two little guys calls me often. Most days she tells me the same things she's told me before and I listen patiently saying things like "I know" and "You're doing a great job". Her 2 year old needs some special attention so she's doing distance learning with him - it's only a couple hours a week but even that adds extra stress. She needs an outlet and so do you. Keep posting memes - we all appreciate them!

emoticon You are doing the best you can and that is enough! Be kind to you. You are worth it; and everyone around you will benefit as well.
