September 16, 2020 COMFORT FROM HOPE
Without hope, we have nothing. We get up in the morning hoping for a great day. We hope for help with our situations. We hope for a better future for our children. We hope for many things all day long. Hope gives us comfort that things will get better. However, we don’t want to confuse hope with wishful thinking. Hope is more likely to come true than merely a wish. Hope is what keeps us going and gives us confidence. Without hope, we have nothing.
When we combine faith in God with hope, we find greater comfort because we know, without a doubt, God will take care of things. If we leave God out of our hope, it becomes a mere wish because we can do nothing without God. When we have doubts or we are dealing with hard times, we should put hope in God for comfort and direction. He is ready to hear from us and wants us to put our faith and hope in Him.
Psalm 94:19 “When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (NLT)
1. Write about what you are hoping for.
2. List what God says about putting your hope in Him.
3. Know only God can give you true comfort.
4. Put your hope in God and have faith He will take care of you.
Dear Lord, we search for comfort in so many ways. However, when we don’t put our hope in You, we don’t find true comfort. We know we need to put our hope in only You. You will comfort us when we are dealing with hard times and You, alone, will give us all we need. We put our hope in You today, Lord, having faith You will answer our prayers and give us comfort. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
