For those who asked me about cleaning the dishwasher with hydrogen peroxide: I reached down at the bottom of the washer under the door and wiped out a lot of that icky black slime from soap buildup. Had to swallow down a few times from the gagging, but I did it.
I do not have a weak stomach, but it was like liver.. emoticon
You measure out a half cup of peroxide, pour it in the washer, then run it through a regular cycle. That is it. It is very clean and smells so neutral!
I use kool aid in my coffee pot, but this is what I researched for my dishwasher.

Oh, that's a good hint that I'll be trying. Thank you! I generally buy a specific product to clean my dishwasher, but have peroxide on hand.

I'm glad to be an 'old-fashioned' dishwasher and thus avoid this task

Wow! That is a lot cheaper than the store bought dishwasher cleaners! Does that work on clothes washers?

I hope your daughter is doing better. Still praying for both of you!

I really should that with mine, after all the dishwasher should be clean. I do occasional use those bottle of DW cleaners and they do a good job, and it does smell so fresh.

OMG, that sounds disgusting, even to ME, who can handle most anything!

Thanks for the cleaning tip, though!
