I need to walk Tess--- You see, it has been raining--a lot--plus, it seems so dark, and I hear from the weather guy that it is the smoke in the air, from the fires out west, that is making it kinds dark here.
---so, I will change the "can't" into, "I can"--
And I haven't attempted the 2 wheel bike--It has gears--- which must be easy---I need the Grandchild, Ethan, to show me--maybe?
-or--I might just hop on it and ride away---

So, yesterday, I took my mask, and went for groceries.
"Did yu see anyone yu knew?" Himself asked, when I returned home.
"No, because no-one talks," I told him.
-Not one person spoke to me---which was OK with me, but, it certainly isn't like it used to be.
I tried NOT to come home grouchy, as I usually do---
--and, why do I return home--always--grouchy, after grocery shopping?--
I really don't know!
Maybe it's the whole Pandemic thing that gets to me---
But nothing happened---
And I am NOT sick--I should be happy---

Lord love a Duck--- Time to Shake the Booty---- accept what is---and get on with life here!

-maybe this might help

Wearing masks adds an extra level of difficulty to recognizing people anyway.... (that’s why bank robbers wear masks in the first place!)

Though I WAS encouraged to hear of a friend in deaf education who mentioned a clear/ see through mask which helps her lip-readers A LOT...

I get grouchy when I go to the grocery store because of the prices. I despise going there. But no way around it if I want to eat, and I do like to eat. Sometimes things are out of my reach because I'm vertically challenged, you know, and some things I need are on the top shelf. And you can never find anyone to give assistance when needed. I went to a store one day just to pick up a couple of items. No handles on the cooler, so i couldn't get in there, and the other items were way up on the top shelf. A young man was getting something down for another customer, but i guess he didn't see me standing there.i walked right back out the door and went someplace else. They need to lower the shelves so people like me can get what we need if they don't want to bother with helping out a lady in distress. Oh well, my rant for the day. Be blessed.

Grocery shopping can be a bit of a pain, so it makes some sense that you might come home grouchy. I have been considering using Shipt for my shopping, mostly because I hate taking the time to shop when I have so much else to do.

yes, its confusing to me how people do not acknowledge you when said, hi, or a question ( not being close up), but sometimes will talk if you take a walk and you are from a distance.

You made a valid comment, in which most people Had Not Talked, Even in the Grocery Store! But surprises do happen, as we went shopping for a quick bop in and pick up and out kinda shopping, we were "talking to others!" WooHoo!!! I think we are all feeling that being "social, as we used to do, can still be done, even with complete strangers, for we are a stranger but once!"

The grocery stores are not friendly anymore. I do not enjoy going shopping since, as a previous Sparker said, everything has been moved, there are arrows telling you which way to go but half the people don't follow them, many of the shoppers don't wear masks, and the cashiers are behind plexiglass and also don't look thrilled to be there! By the time you leave you don't have many of the things you wanted to buy (the store no longer has them) and you've had a frustrating time while there!

Covid has changed things so much - but we must remember to smile, say hi, encourage others as so many are suffering with different things related to covid - loss of jobs, not being able to be with family members to name just too. Am so thankful that I have stayed healthy - but it takes work to do so

I live in a small community in Cloverdale BC. What I call the downtown area, still has that old country friendly feel to it. Even though it has grown in the past few years, most people still exchange hellos as we pass each other. Hope it never changes!!

Seems like we are lonely for people while staying at home but even when we go out to shop we are still feeling alone as you social distance and don't talk to others but i try to stay positive by thinking that this is needful for now and fretting about it will not shorten the time. Hopefully this will not last forever. I do wish the whole mask or not mask had not become so politicized as to make people feel that their rights are being restricted.

I saw a study the other day done in Australia where cases have been better controlled by early lock-downs and other restrictions. Not only Coved-19 cases have been lower but there has been a side benefit of much fewer flu cases - remember that it has been winter there and flu season. So for me that is pretty good proof that wearing a mask and practicing safety habits and social distancing really works.

In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
    Don't worry, be happy
    Don't worry, be happy now

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
    Don't worry, be happy

'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
    So don't worry, be happy
    Don't worry, be happy now.
But don't worry, be happy, be happy now
    don't worry be happy.

The grocery store is making us all grumpy.

The grocery store is not user friendly at all. I have my list but it is a job to find things. There are arrows to follow, food has been moved, the aisles are full of displays and people don’t follow the arrows. I go home tired and worn out!

As a kindergarten teacher, the mask mask makes me miserable. The kids can't understand some of what I say, i is hard to breath, I get headaches and dry mouth. I live in California near San Francisco, the air has been terrible, everything is covered in a layer of ash. The children cannot go outside to play. I have gained 20 pounds since covid started. Except for work, I am isolated in my home alone everyday. It has been so hard, so lonely.

Love this post. I don't mind the grocery shopping, it's putting it all away. Then we keep trying to stock up for the winter as we keep hearing we need to. I see soup is the out of stock right now, a lot of the cooking soup for casseroles as well. Chicken and Beef Stock, veggie also.

I was wanting an Ebike and changed my mind. Good luck with your new bike.
I am wearing the mask, I am not well liked on the stepfamily kids side. They make fun of me and get mad since my husband and myself are practicing social distance. In fact one of them opened up a facetime conversation this way. 'I have a question but I already know the answer" ??? Nice wanted us to fly to Disneyworld in November. No, not happening, and we have a new motorhome, we would drive... emoticon

Hope you are safe with the bike. I remember canning as a teen and a grandma decided after years of not riding a bike it would be a good idea. Let's just say she came back all scraped up and her adult child was giving her crap about doing it. I thought she was a little crazy for doing it at the time. But even though I am not as old as she was I get it know. Be safe.

If the vaccine is available before the end of the year - Don’t Get It! It will not have been tested enough!

I come home exhausted from grocery shopping and running errands. I think because of the mask - everything is just a little harder.

Times they are a changing! We all smile although you can't really tell, but lots of waving.

You'll figure out the bike; those gears aren't that hard. I have a bike with multiple gears and tend to keep the big one in the middle and just shift the smaller gears. You'll have fun

We may have a vaccine before the end of October but many are very wary about it. And even if/when we get it, the logistics of productions and distribution are massive. One needs to be kept at -70 F which is not something most places will be able to do. Coupled with all that, will be the need to keep the numbers of people limited because of social distancing. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer this morning. Fingers crossed that we do get a reliable vaccine and that countries are able to coordinate the logistics of getting it distributed. Don't have much faith that the U.S. will do that with the current administration.
