I am sure many of you have struggled with weight gain during Covid lockdown. I did and gained about 27 pounds before I rejoined WW.! I managed to lose 5 of those pounds, but I am struggling to continue to lose. I am very thankful for Spark where I can list my foods and see the calories. WW free foods still have calories so I don't want to get carried away!

Anyway, I just wanted to throw this out there so that I admit my problem and maybe that will help me get on track! I still have about 125 lbs to lose.

I started here 13 yrs ago at 214# and I got to 186# and went up and down to 172# for years, and finally 3 yrs ago I found a doctor who put me on Metformin so my blood sugar went from 115 to 100 and I stopped eating at night. Listen to his interview on Youtube: He is 77.

I've been on SparkPeople since January 1, 2010, and my weight went up and down before I finally made up my mind in 2019 that I wanted to lose weight more than I wanted to eat something that wasn't good for me. I think that a big part of the hurdle was getting it in my mind that although I couldn't control a lot of things, I could control what I put in my mouth.

I was always eating comfort foods, telling myself that I deserved this cookie or that brownie or chips and dips -- which was so backwards. What I deserved was to be healthy! It was like suddenly a switch went off in my brain, and I knew I COULD lose weight and get healthier, and that I was GOING to do it. I've been at maintenance level for a little over five months now, and I'm sure I'll always have to think about what I'm eating -- but I know I don't want to start gaining again.

And you can do it, too! Stick with this, and never give up.

Wishing you the best. I think my problem is focusing on the weight loss at every moment of the day.
I do wonderfully with breakfast, start forgetting at lunch and then at dinner... what diet? I seriously don't write in my log or anything. I know if I log everything in at all meals then I will lose the weight. I have an important night in November, so I am using a spiral note card (one for each day ) and logging everything on Spark but also on my little portable notebook. I am taking it with me every where. It is a visual and portable reminder of my deadline date.
When I get close to the date, I plan to make another event to help me focus on losing more weight until then with more note cards.
use a visual at every meal and day to put yourself back into focus like you did before.
    All the best
