Grand kids had a wonderful first day of school

Friday, August 21, 2020

good morning- got up early - slept well- relaxed. got a wonderful Facetime yesterday evening with my grandkids. It was their first day of school online. Normally my GS (5) and GD (8) talk together. But GD insisted that she talk first without her brother chirping in. I actually have had more wonderful talks with my DGD with the virus b/c they Facetime and we have a more in-depth talk. She is so wonderful. I love her so. I am proud of how she has been raised and how she is growing. She loves school. I truly think she is separating from her brother. They were so close and have done everything together. Now she wants more independence and her friends without him. It has been going on for a while the virus has made them close again, but with school, she wants to spread her wings. Then DGS gets on. He is so hyper and so excited. He is in kindergarten- he is very smart but needs to learn to calm down. DD has her hands full with him. He is a kind boy and helps others. He loves to talk. he is a fabulous soccer play and needs the sport to get rid of his excess energy. But with the virus - no soccer. We love him so. I am very grateful that they are willing to Facetime with us. DH HB is coming soon. We have decided to delay celebration this year with family. Our State is one of the hot spot states. With School soon going to face-to-face- everyone is expecting a surge again. Its always something that happens - college openings are not going well. DD and her family are in quarantine again b/c of her trip to her in-laws. DD made a remark the in-laws who are our age did not wear a mask the entire weekend. After the kids finished - DD got on. She told us that SIL is not happy with his job. He will be looking for another job. Luckily he is very skilled in what is needed in the market place. Our city is very lucky to have jobs in these areas. She does not know his plans in the middle of a virus. I do not say anything. DD and SIL will work it out. SIL does have savings to fall back on. emoticon I have been having unusual readings on my BP monitor. I finally went to my DH's and it was more normal. I just ordered another BP monitor. I had this one for quite a while. So for today- I am going to get back to reading. I am positive and confident! Have a good day!!

Awwww, so glad both kids had a good first day of school. Yes, DGD is totally normal in her desire to separate from her little brother and spread her wings!

Good luck to SIL w/a job search.
