Mind you, this weight is taken after having eaten breakfast and lunch, but also after a couple hours of playing pickleball, so the reality might...well, I guess I can find out tomorrow, or next week or whenever. Either way, about two and a half pounds lower than the last time I recorded my weight in here. And commensurate with what I saw a couple of days ago, enough so I can call it stable enough to record.

(as opposed to a one day drop that bounces right back up after a heavy dinner kind of day or something, I mean)

Played another pickleball tournament this weekend, and tried to step up to the next higher skill level, after having won the previous level in the July edition. Let's just say lessons were learned. My partners and I (played both mixed doubles and doubles) did NOT finish in last place, nor winless, although in doubles we tried to do that, losing out first four matches and trailing 9-2 in the last one, before recovering to win 12-10, and ending the day on a high note.

In mixed doubles, my partner and I won the first game, to forestall that possibility right away. After being mildly competitive in all but one of the next four games, we ened up winning two more, and if we could have won that last one, we would have been 5th out of 9 teams. But I was tired by then and just played like crap to end the day, leaving us in 7th. It was still fun, and I'd do it again. But I kind of fell like I need to play those better players to learn how to deal with those better players. Stuff that would have worked against the people I play regularly with did not faze the higher skill folks. They just returned them with ease and then pounced on mistakes I made, more efficiently than I'm used to seeing. So, yeah, some lessons learned, but I need to learn more.
