Review of my August goals to date

Friday, August 14, 2020

My August goals were:

Nutrition:

1. Follow a whole food, plant-based way of eating for the most part ~ emoticon I am doing well on this for the most part and I have rejoined the Whole Food/Plant Slant program now known as Lifestyle Nutrition.
2. Limit sweets, oil and salt -~ I have found some whole food recipes that are a big help with this. I use applesauce in place of oil and I use dates to sweeten my baked items. emoticon
3. Plan my meals for the day ~ This has not been happening, but I am still following a good menu plan emoticon
4. Track using the daily dozen checklist ~ I have been doing this.

Exercise:

1. Walk 30-45 minutes Monday, Wednesday and Friday; walk 45 – 60 minutes Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. ~This has been happening on a regular basis.
2. 7,750 steps minimum daily ~ I think I have only one day where I didn’t quite meet this goal; most days I have exceeded it.
3. Stretch daily for a minimum of 10 minutes ~ This has been happening emoticon
4. 45 minute yoga Monday, Wednesday and Friday ~ I had to switch yoga studios due to her vacation, so I have been doing 75 minutes on these days this month. emoticon
5. 45 minute restorative yoga on Thursday ~ I had to drop this goal as the studio that offered it is closed. emoticon
6. 8 minute arm workout at least three days a week ~ I did this the first week and haven’t been after that because I have been busy with yard work and crafting projects so I ran out of time. emoticon
7. 8 minute lower body workout at least three days a week; and ~ I did this the first week and haven’t been after that because I have been busy with yard work and crafting projects so I ran out of time. emoticon
8. 8 minute core workout at least three days a week. ~ I did this the first week and haven’t been after that because I have been busy with yard work and crafting projects so I ran out of time. emoticon

Overall I have been doing well on my goals and I am happy with my progress, but I still need to work on getting strength into my exercise routine.
