Walk Circumspectly. July 25 2020

“ See then that he walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17. KJV.

“It’s dangerous out in the street,” I was told by some Ecuadorians as I exited my office heading to the bank to get some money for our missionaries. I ignored them and headed for the bank. A few minutes later I smelled tires burning and faced an angry mob who where attracting the police. The next thing I knew was that tear gas was fired and my eyes began to burn because of it. I soon realized that I had been very unwise in not heading the warning as I left the office that morning. I certainly had not been walking circumspectly like the wise but instead had acted as a fool would. I ran away from the crowds of people as quickly as possible. My eyes were burning and my feet felt like rubber. I cried out to God, “ Save me O Lord and bring me safely home.” That is exactly what he did. In hindsight I had not been walking circumspectly, but had foolishly walked right into a riot, unprepared for the consequences of doing that. It is foolish not to prepare for the future; we need to understand Satan’s tactics. As we go deep into his territory, we need to be wise and surrounded by the prayers and encouragement of other believers. God’s will is that we be, “Filled with the Spirit.” Life is about walking circumspectly, wisely being submitted to Christ and obediently following His Word. What area in our walk needs to be re-examined to see where changes are necessary to wisely stay within God’s safety parameters of the Word? Later on I was told that two men were killed in this riot. God had been very gracious in protecting me.

God has numbered each person’s days. Because our lifetimes are limited, we should view each day as a precious gift to be lived wisely and according to the will of the Lord. His will is laid out in the guidelines He has given us in the Bible.

🙏Father God, help me to live circumspectly and walk circumspectly in all my ways and days. Thank you for the precious gift of life and for the way you have protected me, even when I have walked foolishly. Help me to live In accordance to your Word and to be filled by the Spirit. It is In Jesus’ name that I pray.
