Today I drove from south central Texas (near San Antonio) to south east Texas (suburban Houston) and I get to combine a couple of pleasures , ..... 1) getting to have lunch with my Mother and my siblings, which is always fun, and especially precious in this time of coronavirus, and 2) getting to participate in a state political convention as a delegate, even though they’ve had to convert to a virtual convention At the last minute since the weekend ...
Switching to a virtual Online format meant that I didn’t have to drive to Houston, BUT then I wouldn’t get to see my family..... and I was really looking forward to it, so I drove those miles anyway..... and the snap peas And grapes I brought made great snacking-while-I-Drive companions.
I arrived right in time for lunch.....Lunch was ordered from some nice restaurant here, and it was the Wednesday lunch special, which was the Biggest, Thickest Pork Chop (Fully 2 inches thick!!!) that I have ever seen!
It was served with a side of mashed potatoes, which I didn’t eat, .And yummy Brussels sprouts, which I did ... and I’m pretty sure that my leftovers will easily stretch out over at least 2 more meals....
And since I can attend my convention online (Even the voting!), I can have leftover pork chop while I stay at my brother’s house, instead of struggling with convention center “food”... WIN!
