“ The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, i in them and You in Me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me.”
In the six years we lived in Ecuador we experienced many things. Such as the mountain behind our home erupting and spewing ash over the city. We also had turmoils and strikes, with blocked roads and a general uprising of the people against the government. Tear gas was used against the people protesting and tires were burning in the streets. At times like these I felt that our lives were in danger and even during good times I always had to fear being robbed-as I carried huge sums of cash for the mission. At times I complained about the safety, but then I realized how much more my brothers and sisters in Christ who lived in this country feared for their own safety. I had protection in the compound where I lived and they often lived beside militants with no protection. It made me realize that I need to pray for them and the church in Ecuador more. The more prayer offered I saw that the Lord had actually orchestrated some of these events together so that we would pray for one another more. The Lord was building up His bride, the church, and for His name to be glorified in the country.
Christian who operate on the same agenda as the verse above understand that this is the heartbeat of all Christ followers. The Father is to be glorified, we as followers are to be sanctified, and the church is to be unified to reach the world for Him.
That is my prayer O Lord. Thank you for teaching that to me in Ecuador
