Driver's License, Vehicle License and Covid 19

Tuesday, July 14, 2020

Well, My driver's license is up on the 22nd of this month and also my new tabs for the license plates on my vehicle. We have known they were coming and we paid and sent for them all about 2 months but nothing came and nothing showing online from the secretary of State. ~SIGH~....so my main brain (John~Husband~) has diligently had me watching online, at the Credit Union (for the check to clear) but nothing. We decided we had to do something. Somehow John found that MI people have an extension from our governor due to the slow down of services form Covid 19. They finally sent us an appointment to go to the Secretary of State and today was that day. All worked out as it was said it would. Sometime by the actual expiration date we will either HAVE the said license tab for the truck and also the sticker for my driver license. WHEW. There were only two Secretary of State employees and they both helped us and explained what happens. At least we don't have to worry now....and even if by some unforeseen happenstance we don't get them on time there will be no late fee for any of it. The Secretary of State employees were oh so sweet and knew how hard it is on everyone during these times. So soon I will be back there (in line outside the building cine only 2 people allowed inside) and all I will have to do is put the new stamp on my license and get a new picture taken. I will tell you one thins I will be oh so happy when Covid 19 is OVER and DONE! Thanks for listening to me whine! emoticon And have a WONDERFUL week!

Glad it finally got worked out for you.
I must admit I enjoyed the peace and quiet when there was no air or car traffic for two months. Never knew it could be so quiet. But it is back to the normal noise as far as traffic goes and the sirens are howling morning noon and night. The mall parking lot I ovelook was full on the first reopening day. It was never that busy before. Sad for all those jobs lost and businesses gone under. Some things will never be the same for sure.

My hubby's license expired in June... he has an appointment August 1st. It was nice to have an extension on the federal taxes until today. :)
    At least folks are understanding.

I got my things in the mail, but my birthday was in January, so I sent my paperwork and check in last December. It used to take a couple weeks for them to arrive, now it is more than four weeks.

Too bad you need a new photo or they could just mail your license and tabs to you. I am glad it is cleared up though.

So glad it worked out for you. I know the world is so crazy right now. Even Dr. appointments are a pain, especially when you go inside to check in and then go sit outside in your car and they call you when to come back inside—especially when it is hot like it is in South Georgia and you have over an hour wait. Ugh!! You were so luck for such nice folks helping you. ((HUGS))

Glad you don't have to worry about it any longer. I hate having things hanging over my head like that. Don't worry about whining. I think we all are sick of COVID, unfortunately I think we will be dealing with this for quite awhile.

Glad between the two of you that it has been sorted out!

I am SO grateful that all of that was due in January for us. So, we got it taken care of BEFORE we realized how serious an issue Covid would become.

You and John take care! emoticon
