The Fortune Teller By Nola
Sunday, July 12, 2020
Today, we had a surprise visit from our Daughter-In-Law, and our Grand-daughters, 13 year-old Elizabeth, and 8 year-old Nola.
When the girls were here with us on Wednesday, their Grandpa gave Elizabeth a jewelry box that he had made. We always try to treat each girl the same so he told Nola that he had a surprise for her the next time she was over. He had purchased a globe ball that was a deep pink and when set on top of a light source, little bubbles appeared. When he gave it to her today, he told her that it was used to tell fortunes. She was thrilled.
Just before they left, Nola asked me if I wanted her to tell my fortune. She waved her hand over the globe and then said, "My Grandma's future will include 2 beautiful Grand-daughters who will be excellent students, will graduate with honors, will go to college and graduate ready to go into careers where they will have great salaries, will marry wonderful husbands, and will have 2 kids each." When she finished, I asked her why she didn't do a fortune telling for me? She looked me right in the eyes and said, "Grandma, if all of that happens, you will be the happiest Grandma ever."
She is only 8. I don't know where these thoughts come from, but I am constantly waiting for the next thing that knocks me off my feet.
