Us humans cherish our seasonal grievances. In the winter, we enthusiastically complain
about the cold. In the spring, it’s the wet. In the fall, it’s the pumpkin spice.
But in the summer, it’s the heat. We all may have said,
“Its not the heat, it’s the humidity.” But as usual, it’s the heat.
So here we are, mid summer and guess what; it’s hot out there.
And not just your normal summer- hot either. Second degree burns from
the car-door handle-hot. Your clothes all feel like greasy Saran Wrap-hot.
Sweating in places you weren’t aware you had places-hot.
Record shattering hot here.
35c with humidex it feels like = 42c = ( 107f.)
Yesterday, Toronto had a flash flood in the afternoon. 1500 homes without hydro... no AC.
There have been several reports of flash flooding even carrying cars away. Trees down.
With the city being under a severe thunderstorm watch and even tornadoes posing a threat.
The quick heavy rainfall seemed to take everyone by surprise yesterday afternoon.
So I guess what I'm saying is that we need to beware of what we wish for.
