Wait upon the Lord. I Peter 5:5-9. July 06 2020.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” I Peter 5:6-7.

Sometimes we begin our days with problems. Our alarm clock breaks and we sleep in. We hop in the shower and there is no water. We call the repairman and he does not answer. Now we are angry and we believe that we have a right to be angry. None of these things were your fault and you do need an answer to your problems. And of coarse you need those answers immediately.

In our fast paced world we have become accustomed to answers immediately, after all we receive messages, money, packages and answers instantaneously. Maybe this is the reason that we have trouble to wait upon the Lord. When we call upon the Lord we often treat Him like the repairman. God must answer immediately and He must fix our problems right away.

You know that God is always with us through the presence of the Holy Spirit, but He answers our prayers in His time. God’s will for our lives and His plan for it can be different than ours.

Why does He do this? It is not to make our lives more difficult. It is to encourage us to trust Him and rely upon Him completely. God is always faithful to answer our prayers, but they only come when we are ready to receive them.

Never give up or get angry by unanswered prayers. Instead seek God with a heart of patience and trust in His timing Wait upon the Lord and understand that He operates in a different time frame from us.

Right on...Our flesh wants its way in every thing, all the time! so annoying....

Just like Jesus said: We must watch and pray because the spirit is ready, but the flesh is weak. God's timing is always perfect : )
