Getting Organized - Crochet Edition (July)
Thursday, July 02, 2020
Last night I was lying in bed and as the minutes ticked by I realized that I was feeling really scattered and disorganized. I'm half way through the year and my goal to have most of my Christmas gifts be handmade/crocheted this year sort of seems out the window right now. To put it succinctly, we're into July now and I've only finished two projects so far. I have A LOT more to go if I'm going to hit my Christmas gift goal. I want to get all my current WIPs done before I start on anything new, though.
- Portal Afghan (~half done)
- Evan's Blanket (~1/4 done, Christmas Gift)
- My Giant Granny Square Blanket (unknown progress)
- Random Squares Blanket (~1/2 done, Potential Christmas Gift)
"NEXT UPS"/POTENTIAL CHRISTMAS:
- Peanut's Baby Blanket
- Jessica's Baby Blanket
- Laura's Grandbaby's Blanket
"FINGERS CROSSED" CHRISTMAS:
- Parents-in-law Blanket
- not crochet, but I have a ton of fabric that I can use to make flannel rag quilts, some already cut
So yeah... tons to do. The baby blankets are patterns I can work up REALLY fast (2-3 weeks each?), but the Portal Afghan and Evan's Blanket have been absolute time sinks because they're squares that I have to tie ends into and then crochet together. To give an idea, I made 15 2.5x2.5 inch squares for Evan's blanket tonight over about 75-90 minutes. The entire blanket will need about 900 squares plus a border. I think I have 280 squares completely done with yarn tails weaved in and ready to be crocheted together and about 100 or so more crocheted but with tails still out. LOTS more to do on that one.
I'm slowly making progress, though. And Mr Noodle dog has been great snuggle company while I work. Mandatory pupper photo from when he decided to shove his snoot into his paws the other night. Little weirdo...
