Down in the back but refusing to be down in the mouth

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

For the last 20 years (give or take), I have had back trouble. In the early 2000's surgery was necessary for a herniated disk. Over time I began to have fewer setbacks and hadn't had one for over two years. The perfect storm of events came together and my back is out but now I am wiser as how to care for my back than I was in my early years.

Yesterday 30 saplings were cut down and hauled off. I enjoyed every minute and was clicking off the calories in my head and the muscle toning in my arms and legs. Today, I am watching my calories so I don't overindulge while having some pain and disappointment.

In the past, I would get so down and give up. The program is working. I am not going to gain what I have lost. Gratitude is my go to for counteracting depression. My doctor is excellent and will see him tomorrow. Walking is still available to me and I got in 3300 steps despite storms and rest. After a few days of taking it easy, I can rebuild on the recovery. Nothing is lost and just an opportunity to be the best person God created.

What a great attitude! I am having some back pain as well, but I think it is from losing muscle mass in my shoulders and back. I need to find my back exercises so I can rebuild. It will also help when my chiropractor is back in town. He and his wife are out of town to visit a newborn grandchild, imagine that!

    Alleluia! We will be fine!
