I DID IT! I brought my A1c down. No insulin for me!

I am so happy. I need to remember this feeling to keep me motivated to keep it up. In two months, my A1c went from 9.9 to 7.3. When I get tested in three months, I'm going to make sure that it's below 7 and eventually I'm getting it under 6.
I want to live, and I want to live without poking myself and injecting myself. So far (touch wood) I've been spared the complications of diabetes. I want to keep it that way.
THANK YOU, SPARKIES! Your support and enthusiasm and your humour have all been a key part of my success so far. I have a LONG way to go, but I know I can do it. If I can do it, so can you. I've been working on my thinking, my feelings, my habits. It's not enough to know you should eat properly and exercise more -- you need to figure out why you haven't been doing that. Yes, it's all in your head, but that doesn't mean it's not very real. What's in my head still needs a lot of work, but I'm finally working on it.
I think I'll go dance for a bit.
