Today in my kitchen....

One of my extra goals that I set is to try new recipes in the kitchen -- probably daily for a while. As I am learning how to help my husband live a life that is dairy- and gluten-free, I have to keep trying new things. Overall, we rely on a lot of basic meat + vegetable meals BUT we need variety. Also, if this is going to work for the long term, I think we have to be able to find ways to have *those* foods--the ones that you love so much you will end up falling off the wagon for them. The first hurdle was ice cream and we have found some excellent options for ice cream. Next hurdle--pizza!

    I have tried a lot that I will never try again but I have also found recipes that will stay with me for a while. This weeks experiments have not yielded too much success but the mango guacamole (in the pic above) was well received by one of my children who has never tried guacamole before! emoticon
