June 25, 2020 PEACE AND TRANQUILITY

Some seek peace and alignment in this world from sources they believe are beneficial to their heart and soul. They may meditate thinking about various aspects of nature. They may have a chant or ritual they do in the mornings to align with the spirits of the world. They may have readings they practice that gives them some type of worldly peace. However, seeking peace and tranquility from this world leaves us empty.

We need the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us to do what is right. We can draw from the Holy Spirit to meditate on God’s word. We can practice the Fruits of the Spirit in our lives every day. If we want real peace and tranquility in this world, we need God’s Holy Spirit to teach us and to guide us to stay focused on God.

SCRIPTURE:
Romans 8:11 “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you do to experience peace.
2. List what things the world promises about peace.
3. Know only God can give you real peace.
4. Go to God’s word and allow His Holy Spirit to give you peace.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know we can’t find peace in this world. Help us to remember to allow Your Holy Spirit to guide us to real peace – Your peace. We know focusing on anything else will not give us the peace You have for us. Let us not be confused by the ways of the world but instead draw from Your Holy Spirit to experience true peace and tranquility. Thank You, Lord, for the peace You give to us as we place our faith in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, we will find peace.

Romans 8:6 “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” (NLT)

The Holy Spirit produces real peace. We are to remember real peace comes from God and only seek it from Him.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (NLT)

We are to make every effort to align with the Holy Spirit so we can do God’s will and experience peace.

FOCUS:
Ephesians 4:3 “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.” (NLT)
