Coincidence or God? June 18 2020.
“ The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust Him. Nahum 1:7
In past devotionals I have made reference to the time when our Down Syndrome daughter was so sick that we needed to take her out of the altitude in Quito and take her down to sea level in Same. The following story I have not shared as of yet.
While on the coast Alicia got really sick and on Tuesday night my wife decided that she needed to take her to the local hospital. Only one doctor was on duty and two nurses. When Clara brought Alicia in she was barely breathing and the doctor had no idea what to do for her. However there were two people visiting this hospital who were lung specialist from France who spoke French. They immediately took over our daughter’s care. They built a small little oxygen tent to go around Alicia and started giving her oxygen. They quickly assessed that Alicia needed oxygen and was not getting it.They made her as comfortable as could be and monitored her situation for a few hours before they sent her home with oxygen.
My wife told me that without these two men’s intervention our daughter would have died that night. Why were two Swiss doctors in Ecuador visiting a small little outback hospital in Same? It just did not make sense. Why were they there at night time and not during the day. If you believe, then you will know that God sent them there for one reason only. To save our little girl’s life so that He can get the glory. Only God could arrange this.
Many people will say, “ O that is just a coincidence.” We know better. Thank You God for Your wonderful care! To You be the glory and Praise.
🙏. Father God, I don’t believe in coincidences. I know that You are at work in our lives every day. You show your love and compassion to us in our times of need. Thank You for sparing Alicia’s life and showing her Your mercy and love. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for us and give us peace. We love You Jesus and it’s in Your name that I pray.
