Lessons from a Snake. June 14 2020.
“ Thou will keep them in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him”
Isaiah 26:3. KJV.
My daughter is petrified of snakes. She has a panic attack any time she sees one even in the distance. She screams and yells and calls me to protect her.. she knows I will know what to do.
Once she saw a bunch of snakes in our garden near our ponds. She screamed and ask me to get rid of them. I came with a fork ready to kill them but they all slithered away and we never saw them again.
We are often surprised when temptations, like snakes come into our lives. They often come unexpectedly. How then do we handle the situation? Do we ask Jesus for His wisdom and advise and help or do we try to overcome in our own strength?
When Jesus comes, He knows what to do and He will guide us. He will put our temptations to flight. So why are we so often unable or unwilling to seek God’s help? “ Come unto me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
🙏. Father God, thank You that we can call upon You and you will give us rest. You help me overcome my temptations and trials. I love you and Your Son Jesus in whose name I pray.
