Mid-2020 check in...pandemic..riots and looting..
Sunday, May 31, 2020
Well, tomorrow is June 1st. We are now in middle of 2020.
What a year it has been so far.
First the pandemic in the beginning of the year. Now, riots and looting that started earlier in Minneapolis, Minnesota this week and now across the country...due to an injustice, a black man, George Floyd was killed by a white police man during an arrest, where he kept his knee on the right side of his neck for 8 minutes until he became unresponsive and died.
The incident happended in downtown Minneapolis but the riots and looting has spread out to where I live way out in the suburbs, the suburb malls and supermarkets. Thank God the National Guard is patroling my area
My 80 year old mother, who survived the bombing of Tokyo, was freaking out yesterday and started packing, claiming we needed to flee when the bombs hit our condo and to run to the lake and park across the street. Thank God I was able to calm her down. Explaining the National Guard is patroling the streets and we should be fine.
What a Year.
