Accomplished my goals today and have already reset my method to achieve them long term

It's so humid it reminds me of being back home in Chicago! I just exercised, despite the exhaustion from my neighbors being excessively loud last night for hours. I did a Leslie Sansone compilation on YouTube that someone named Moh Rifki Zakaria generated "to reduce the risk of high levels of uric acid and cholesterol" called "Power Walk 2 Miles". I didn't want to be vigorous and I ended up being vigorous! I feel great. emoticon

I am changing how I work out to accomplish my goal. I know i need to do more and not just watch what I eat, which I am not very good at anyways. Yes, I eat primarily healthy foods but I eat too much of them! Tonight I am considering leaving out the brown rice and just having the stir-fried rosemary beef tips and a salad on my plate. My goal is to lose weight and to try and stick to a low sodium diet, low cholesterol diet. I believe I've mentioned my interest in the Mediterranean Diet. I had returned to a vegetarian diet (which I pursued when I was in my 20's) with the idea that I would eat more vegan, but I found that with my finances I could not afford it very well (I go to food pantries because I am low income for 2/3 of my monthly food) and I did not have enough energy! I feel better including meat in my diet. And the Mediterranean Diet is very much about eating meat in a healthy way.

So now that I am over some physical problems and illnesses that dogged me for about 3-4 years, and I have adapted to my changed condition, I need to step up and exercise more often. AND--this month I ordered an exercise bike from online. It won't be shipped until July 10th! I am excited about it because although it is not Schwinn brand, it is exactly like the exercise bike I used last year when I had physical therapy (just slightly less expensive for me). Adding the bike in the morning will increase my exercise, especially on days when I have my helper come in the morning. Sometimes I am too tired in the afternoon on the days she works for me, so this is a way to sneak in some exercise in the early morning just when I get up!
