Bump Update Week 32

Monday, May 25, 2020

I hit 32 weeks over the weekend.

I wish I could say we're still going strong, but that would be a lie.

I haven't been around much in the last month or so. It's been a little rough.

We've been doing a ton of work on the house and the yard, enjoying our time together as a family. Cooking, baking, and sitting around the fire.

The kids are on their final week of school. The oldest girl starts High School in August and the oldest boy will start charter school. The younger two will continue in home school for another year (hopefully more).

Tomorrow, I have my last ultrasound with the High Risk OB and will set an induction date with my regular OB in the afternoon. It's not the option I wanted, but it's our best option in the current state. I've lost my staying arrangements (which I don't blame anyone but Covid for), and if I'm not there when I go into labor, I'm risking having this baby on the side of the road. So, for the sake of not having a highway baby, and making sure the older kids are taken care of, we're inducing early (39 weeks when all my others came). It was a hard decision and one I've taken the last 5 or 6 weeks to mull and meditate over. Now, just to make it official and on the books with the doctor.

Next week, I meet with the new pediatrician and hopefully start to get my oldest son some relief for his allergies or whatever else he's dealing with. As much as we can with how things are.

I have not been working out, not even yoga, for the last month. My body aches so much. I go to bed exhausted and sore and I wake up exhausted and sore. Grocery days have me down for the rest of the day with swollen feet, sore legs and pelvis.

Right now, my belly comparisons are keeping up with my last pregnancy, my 2nd biggest baby, so I won't be surprised if H is competing for size with her oldest brother and youngest older sister. I'm interested to see what they estimate her weight to be tomorrow.

I cannot eat much these days, and eat like a bird all day long. Somehow, I managed to lose again this week, bringing my total weight gain to 5.6 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. I didn't even eat dinner last night after filling up on homemade bean dip while the husband was bbqing for tacos.

As of this morning, I have a 55-day streak of mediation. Every single morning. I will finish up my 100 day challenge just before H is born, and I'm hoping to find a way to keep it up after her arrival.

47 more days, unofficially.

@kimcar08, I should clarify! I am not getting evicted from any housing right now. But we'd made arrangements to stay with family friends for the last weeks of my pregnancy, so I wouldn't have to try to drive 2.5 hours in labor, when my labors are only lasting 2-3 hours. But they are an older couple with minor health issues and are no longer allowing anyone at the house, not even for a quick visit. So, I don't have anywhere to stay, and cannot afford a hotel for a week or more, not even for a few days. That's what I meant when I said I'd lost my staying arrangements. (:

Thank you to everyone for the comments. We've been thrown another curve ball my anxious brain can't seem to let go of, but I am trying.

I know you are having a rough time. Labor is hard under the best of circumstances You can handle it, with God's help, and have a strong baby at the end.

Looking forward to hearing from you after the baby is born.

Oh, Honey, it just sounds so hard! I just prayed for you and your sweet baby. At least at 39 weeks your baby is fully developed and will do well arriving early. I’m sorry that you are having such discomfort. You need to continue to listen to your body and give it the rest it needs in preparation for the safe arrival of your little one. Three more weeks sounds soon, but probably feels like forever when you are struggling. I hope your oldest son finds relief for his allergies so that can be one worry solved. Hugs and Prayers!!
