Goals & Gratitude 5/18/20

I just realized I haven't blogged in almost a week, so I thought I'd catch y'all up. I've been working hard to get ahead on my homework so that I wouldn't have to do it all today, but it turned out I had to do it all today anyway. I had 5 problems total and I was able to finish 2 of them on my own earlier last week. The remaining three I was able to do parts of, and then I emailed my teacher over the weekend. I didn't realize that she doesn't do email on the weekends, so now I know. Well, I guess we all need a day off! She emailed me this afternoon and was online for several hours so we went back and forth for quite some time until I was able to finish the problems. I ended up with a 99% on the homework which I am quite pleased about. I was missing some box here or there on a W-3 I had to fill out but I wasn't sure which one and it was only 1% so I just said whatever! I also got a 90% on the test for the last two weeks which I am happy about.
The weather has been much nicer here the last two days and will be nice again tomorrow. Today it barely got into the 70s and was overcast all day and it actually sprinkled as I was out for my second walk. I figured the weather was so good I might as well walk twice, particularly when I saw that we're supposed to be up in the 90s by Friday and stay there for the foreseeable future. If that's the case, I'll be doing a walking DVD in the afternoons when it's too hot to go outside.
Work has gotten really quiet. Most of our clients who were having their personal taxes done have met with the managers and we are finishing up their taxes now. There is little prep work for me to do on a daily basis and it's been that way for this whole month. I've been told that the corporate tax work will pick up in June and July and that I'll be doing a lot of prep work for that in the coming weeks. I've been getting trained in it and am feeling (hopefully) ready for new challenges. Once my class is done in mid-June, I will also ask to do some basic payroll accounting work. Mix things up a little!
The "No S" Diet is going really well. I am maintaining on the weekends, when I get to eat snacks and dessert and whatnot, and losing during the week. I hit the elusive 186 last week Friday. I'm not sure what my weight is today as I was having trouble getting an accurate reading this morning, but that's the trouble with digital scales... Hopefully I will no tomorrow morning. Official weigh in days for me are Wed. and Sat. I am working hard not to binge on the weekends and to make just the right amount of snacks or desserts. I made a little too much guacamole over this last weekend and ending up throwing a bunch out so I wouldn't be tempted to eat it. Next time, only two avocados for two days, not three! I will be celebrating A LOT when I hit 185 which will be a huge milestone for me. I never thought I could get there, and I might get there this week!
Okay, off to have a late dinner and do the dishes and put clean sheets on the bed, then it's time to sleep. It's been a long day.
Today I'm Grateful For...
1) Cooler weather.
2) Long walks.
3) Good progress in my accounting class.
