I am choosing to write my blog for the third week of our April BSG challenge on National Humor Month.
April is National Humor Month. It was conceived as a means to heighten public awareness of the therapeutic value of humor. Laughter and joy - the benchmarks of humor - lead to improved well-being, boosted morale, increased communication skills, and an enriched quality of life.
Humor as a tool to lift ailing spirits is an established notion supported by scientific research. The curative power of laughter and its ability to relieve debilitating stress and burnout may indeed be one of the great medical discoveries of our times.
Have you used humor to relieve stress recently? What are ways you incorporate humor into your daily life? Share anything that will lighten our day and help us laugh!!
I have always used humor to relieve stress and just to lighten each day. My dad was always goofy, and I married a husband with a great sense of humor. In these trying times, it is very helpful to look at funny pictures and videos or listen to funny songs. There sure have been a lot of them recently! For me, I just can't take reading or watching all the depressing news about Covid-19 all day long without a humor break. Sometimes I do get tired of seeing the same types of funny pictures on social media (i.e. all the toilet paper jokes!) and some of the song paradies would turn me off, but I appreciate all the creativity from so many people.
There are so many to choose from, but here are some pictures/videos/songs that gave me a giggle or laugh (or at least a big smile!) in recent weeks. (I've been collecting the pictures on my phone!)
It all started with the toilet paper shortage!
But those who hoarded it may need to find some new uses for the surplus they have!
The best masks I've seen so far!
and this one!
We sure appreciate all the people who have volunteered their sewing skills to make face masks for people. There are a lot of tutorials out there - have you seen this one?
Whoever put this compilation together was genius! It made me remember how much I loved MASH!
It's truly sad about all the events that need to be canceled and postponed, like weddings and graduations, but this picture of a social distancing event really tickled my funny bone!
Have you had this problem at the grocery store?
Tired of being stuck inside? I could relate to these!
With all the extra time on your hands, you can always start a new hobby! Like these crocheting projects!
A nice big doily!
or some shorts for your husband!
or this beautiful quilt to remember 2020 - The Year of the Toilet Paper Frenzy!
I saw this one today, and I was amazed at the talent and creativity while laughing through it all!
We think we have to cancel our plans, but maybe we can go on a vacation this summer after all!
I can't imagine how difficult it is for kids and parents being home together all the time...
Nowadays, the biggest problem for me is...my hair and nails. So of course, you can find funnies about this predicament as well!
I don't like all the jokes about gaining weight during the pandemic, but I did think this one was funny!
When all else fails to humor me, I go to my stand by...cute cat and dog videos!
My sister sent this one to me!
I came across this one today. Does this say something about cats vs dogs?
I saw one like this on Facebook, but can't find it anymore. This one is great, too. These dogs' flips crack me up! We need to take a lesson from this - all the joy you can get from one balloon and a friend!
And my final one....who can resist babies?!?
I don't know about you, but I can't wait till I can do this again!
