HOPPING & HOPING, DAYS 19 & 20: 2nd Installment, Weather & Stuff

Monday, April 20, 2020

Hubby planted the garden on Saturday. Saturday night the temps dipped into the lower 30s and the chill killed the basil, 1 tomato plant and a cucumber seedling! At least it is early enough to replant. The poor basil turned black! Is that how you spell the herb, basil? Too tired to look it up!

I wish we could plant an exotic, colorful like my SP Pal, Cheri, but I think I need garden fairies to do that! I've never heard of some of the veggies she grows! Plus, Hubby is kinda old fashioned.

Last night I took my nighttime meds according to the doc. Got so tired while posting my food & exercise I felt like I might fall down on my way to bed.... got in bed and couldn't go to sleep! What the what?!!It made no sense. I felt so much peace in my life yesterday. Our priest gave a fabulous homily/sermon on doubting Thomas and how everyone has doubts and how he had serious doubts at one time and how god answered his prayers when he was so questioning and so angry with God. I feel a great deal of peace about myself. I don't feel any anxiety about me catching Covid19, relatively peaceful about Hubby's chances of catching it, but so unsettled about all the people with the virus, without the virus, who must go to hospitals alone. they can't have anyone with them and that hurts my soul. My friend had to go for an emergency colonoscopy and had to go into the hospital alone and then she felt worried that her sister, a pharmacist may have Covid19 and passed it to her or visaversa which is pretty irrational for many reason. Then she was worried because she had been to a hospital! I guess her anxieties transfered to me. Anyhow, I only slept a few hours on and off last night!

Now I need to do my daily workout and perhaps do some more of that work for which I'm payed!

As always, thanks for reading & commenting! I appreciate your time!

*1* got much of that work for which I'm payed done today & yesterday! what a relief!
*2* The sun shining after a morning of rain!
*3* Thick socks & fuzzy slippers!
*4*Solving a problem with a student over the phone.
*5* Still grateful for Hubby & Sassy. I really need to catch a photo of her looking at Hubby with so much adoration! It is touching, comical and adorable! They make quite a pair in my life!

Sorry the weather messed w/your plants. Nothing planted here yet. Still gets too cold.

Yes, those who have to go to the hospital alone -- I feel for them for sure. Tough.

HUGS and stay safe, stay well.

The weather is such unpredictable here so no one plants outdoors this early. It's all indoors at this point yet!

Yes, I grow a very diverse garden. Basil is quite finicky.I never plant it before May. Some of the things I plant are heirloom vegetables so very old fashioned indeed!
