The Importance of Friendship

I'm sure I'm not the only who has faced some challenges during this "shelter in place." From going to the community center pool 3 times a week with my friend, to NOTHING? I mean, we were never athletic - we're ARTISTS!

But in the wisdom acquired with advancing years, we have concluded that physical activity is important for our overall health.

Well, thank the Lord for technology. Carol and I text each other regularly to encourage one another to "mount up" or "saddle up" on our stationary bikes. I usually do 30 minutes during our first session in the early afternoon (between 12 and 2)

For the second session , usually after 7 pm, I may do anywhere from 15 -30 minutes, usually around 20. ANd during that time, we keep our cell phones at hand to chat a bit with each other via text - not TALKING because that would make it harder to breath during our cardio!

Anyway, more than once each of us has said to the other, "I couldn't have done this without you, my friend."

And because we've been doing this, we've also had the energy to putter around house and yard to get things done. More about that another time!
