HOPPING & HOPING, DAY 11: On the Diabetes Rollercoaster Again
Saturday, April 11, 2020
Blood sugar dropped before dinner, didn't take any extra insulin since eating veggies, then ate an apple and it went sky high! I felt a little nauseous while walking after dinner. It makes me feel bad all over. But, it could be worse.
Today I did yesterday's workout and today's. One was cardio and the other strength so that worked out good.
I just learned that you could pick up palm frommes from the church on Palm Sunday. I didn't know. Oh well.
ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE:
*1* Prayer. some of my Spark Friends are in need of prayer right now and I can do that. I used to not be able to, so I'm grateful I can pray with belief.
*2* My only health problem is my crazy blood sugars. They can be tamed either with food (low) or insulin (high), so I can handle it.
*3* Knowledge I can share with others about mental health, being blind, grief. I went thru alot so I can understand alot and assure others that they are not crazy when they feel like it in grief, being cooped up, dealing with a sick husband, child, etc.
*4* Talking with my nephew on the phone with his live boice and not just texts! He's painting his parents' house. so he talked for about an hour with me! Oooooh, I just wannna squeal! HeeHee.
*5* Sassy & Hubby. My rocks.

To be sure, it was not Easter Sunday but Holy Saturday, but, the more I reflect on it, the more this seems to be fitting for the nature of our human life: we are still awaiting Easter; we are not yet standing in the full light but walking toward it full of trust.~Pope Benedict XVI~~On Holy Saturday I do my best to live in that place, that wax-crayon place of trust and waiting. Of accepting what I cannot know. Of mourning what needs to be mourned. Of accepting what needs to be accepted. Of hoping for what seems impossible.~Jerusalem Jackson Greer~~Something strange is happening – there is a great silence on earth today, a great silence and stillness. The whole earth keeps silence because the King is asleep.~AnonymousUntil one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened.~Anatole France~~A dog reflects the family life. Whoever saw a frisky dog in a gloomy family, or a sad dog in a happy one? Snarling people have snarling dogs, dangerous people have dangerous ones.~Arthur Conan Doyle~~There are few things in life more heartwarming than to be welcomed by a cat.~Tay Hohoff~~I think there's something great and generic about goldfish. They're everybody's first pet.~Paaul Rudd~~Pets have more love and compassion in them than most humans.~Robert Wagner~~A lot of times, when you have a disability, one of the things you deal with is other people's projections of what your experience is and their fear about it, and not seeing the experience you're having. There's nothing horrifying about it to me. It is what I deal with. It is my reality and my life, but it's not horrible.~Michael J. Fox~~God gave me Parkinson's syndrome to show me I'm not 'The Greatest' - he is.~Muhammad Ali~~People with Parkinson's are not some weird people on the edge of human experience.~Helen Mirren~~It is sufficient challenge for any day to live up to your dog's opinion of you -- and maybe pleasantly surprise your cat.~Robert Brault
