“Change is an opportunity to do something amazing.” I’m taking some ideas directly from the blog Toward A New and Better Normal by George Couros
I have learned to look at the change in two ways:
1. Change will come my way and I can “go” through it or “grow” through it. I grow when I seek out solutions rather than letting obstacles hinder me.
2. I can initiate change; in fact, the most important and meaningful changes are often the ones I choose to make.
As this is all happening, it is crucial to understand that the above is not an “either/or,” but often a combination. On some days, I am “growing” and getting better. Some days I feel I am just hanging on at the moment. And some days, I am initiating change in myself to get better. I think this way to look at “change” is accurate pre, during, and post-pandemic, but it is exaggerated at this time. I have had conversations with friends and have been the shoulder to lean on, and sometimes, I am the leaner.
To try and grow through this, I am trying to see the good in our world that is happening right now. I’m focusing on my Blood Pressure (BP) and Blood Sugar (BS) levels. Currently, my best way of controlling Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) is maintaining low BP and BSnumbers
I am doing more walking and doing less driving! I don’t need to climb a mountain to get in my steps! The steps help me keep my BS levels low.
I am drinking more water and less coffee. This is helping me to lower my BP as well as my BS Levels.
I am reading more books and watching less action tv in the evening. This helps my BP too. A calm mind is so important during this time!
A calm mind is like water. When it is turbulent, it is difficult to see. When calm, everything becomes clear. Stay calm, my friend!
