A silver lining on an emotional day

Friday, April 03, 2020

I received my first ever grocery delivery from a grocery store I really like today. In normal times I loved going in there, they had such great produce and their bakery!! Oh, my!

Anyway, I was kind of surprised at my reaction when I realized that the toilet paper I ordered was out of stock, and worse, to my mind, their ready-made meals (sesame chicken and broccoli beef) were also out of stock. Then I was going to make coleslaw and the bag (dated March 21, kinda forgot I had it in the fridge (NOT from this order today) was, duh, inedible.

I actually broke down and started to cry. Over a stupid package of tp and some stupid Chinese food I'd been craving and a dumb bag of rotten shredded cabbage. Seriously, this is so trivial compared to everything else going on out in the world, but I can't help my emotions. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming. 😢

On the bright side, hubby has said he will take me out to get the real thing from my favorite local restaurant as soon as we can, and he said order whatever you like and double it, so you can have it for a week! Because he hates to see me unhappy. Thank God in Heaven he's here! I think I'd be lost without him! I'm gonna go read my Bible now and get my head right again. 😁

"Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world" 1 John 4:4
