May as well be living

Sunday, March 29, 2020

It is beginning to feel a little bit like I'm living on a deserted island or planter. My only communication device is a hand held little black thing and my entertainment involves an odd machine that puts pieces of fabric together in odd ways and a couple of screens. How's that for a visual.

I did make another corner block for my new star from a Missouri Star video and finished a couple more masks. Other than that I've just plain been tired and seems like every little ache or pain could be an emergency. I know my wrist being sore isn't a big deal any more than my eyes itching because I've run out of allergy pills. But those kinds of days have a lot to do with the fact that I've been social distancing since March 15.

Thank fulls
1. our snow totals were minimal and were gone by mid morning (north and east of us much worse)
2. some afternoon sun....actually curled up on the couch next to the window with the sun beating in and took a nap
3. enough books to read that if I don't like one I pick up I can find another that might be interesting

Tomorrow will be an exciting day. I get to call the doctor and try to explain that a medicine she prescribed for me in Jan. was not sent to me because they didn't get the order. But one of the other drugs she changed that day did come. Hoping she can send in the order and then give me a months worth from the local Walmart. Because this mail in stuff takes at least 2 weeks to show up. Then when Walmart sends a message that it if filled I will go to town with my list and do a little shopping. Whoopeee a whole 1 1/2 away from the house.

Lots of wonderful positives. That's the one thing that is hard for people being shut-ins. My mom (93) has been in longer than the orders have been because of a problem with vertigo. Tonight when we brought dinner over she chatted about getting really bad cabin fever. I can understand. At leas we get out on the golf cart and roam around. Apparently there was a golf cart parade by our house that we didn't know about. They reported 65 golf carts. They just kept coming and coming! Maybe next time we can get involves!!
Take care and keep that wonderful sewing going.

This social distancing is teaching us introverts that we actually DO need to be around people, at least sometimes! I know what you mean about books. I finished the last hardcover book I got from the library before it closed, and then had to sit down and figure out how to download a book from the library site to my computer. Fortunately I DID figure it out so am off on another adventure!

Good that the snow didn't decide to stick around, you must be getting spring fever and not wanting snow anymore by now. I know Mn. can great snow whenever the weather turns on a dime and gets cold even for one night. So I was going to call my this evening and totally forgot once I started hand sewing masks for hubby and I. Yup we took the rental machine back yesterday, so machine at present. So I have the material all cut out and so figured what the heck, I can hand stitch them, then when I get my sewing machine back I will zip around them to strengthen them. Oh but it is much more time consuming doing them by hand--but hey what else can I do, and it's not like we have anywhere to go with the stay at home unless you need groceries or have a doctor appointment. Tomorrow I want to do some quick cleaning, iron some clothes, not all of the pile but at least half. Then again work on the masks more in the evening.
We did take a ride around the park this afternoon, the dog loves going on the gold cart for rides. Quite a few of the people here had the same idea, several carts going around the streets in our park, and through the RV section too. It was cloudy, a nice breeze , so great for riding in the golf cart.
    Have a wonderful Monday.
