It's offical...stay at home!

Friday, March 27, 2020

Like I haven't been doing this since March 15 when I got home from the quilt retreat. I will need to go get some groceries next week. I'm on my last lb. of butter, my last box of kleenex and my last case of water. So I'm going to be good and stay put until I really need to go.

As for today I sewed a little (very little) talked on the phone some, took Buck for 2 short walks (it was 54 today) and played my on line computer game. They are of course celebrating April fools day and have a new beast you can ride it even has a really cute little saddle. It's part of both the Easter and April fools quests. I need to make 300 fools gold coins to get one. I would like one for each of my different characters and I have 10 of those. I did get one finished and her giant bunny is now hers.

Thank fulls
1. I talked to my neighbor today. I noticed her outside sweeping her driveway and we talked a few minutes. She's down to only 3 days a week of work and she works at a grocery store. Feel bad for people losing so much.
2. nice sunny weather
3. Buck actually broke a toy today....sure gave me a good laugh when he was standing there with cow's arm in his mouth.

We are expecting nasty rain tomorrow so it will be inside all day. I only have a dozen different projects I could work on but will work on some masks and maybe start some of the blocks for a quilt I'm donating to the nursing home for their winter fund raiser. Masks are getting boring. I need a slight change of scenery.

Our grocery stores here in Florida are putting up plexiglass screens between the cashiers and the customers.
Hope this crisis is soon over.

Sounds like Buck is getting a little frisky with his toys! Our mini dachshund carries her stuffed lion all around the house with her. She also sleeps with it and gets it out of bed as soon as she gets up.

Hope you have a good trip to town and find what you need. Either my husband or myself will have to go one day next week too.

I know our local grocery stores have special hours for seniors, so we don't get exposed to as much (since most of us are a little better about "sheltering-in-place" than some of the youngsters!). I imagine Buck had a look of surprise on his face when he ended up with only part of his toy!

Your having some nice weather in the 50's good for feeling better when the sun is shining. We had another hot and windy, sunny day again. Tomorrow still hot, maybe some rain later afternoon, and then a bit cooler Sunday and a better chance of rain...
Started sewing some masks today, then the loaner computerized sewing machine went haywire. Hubby called the shop, talked with the fellow that should be able to figure out whats wrong, well this one has him stumped. So think tomorrow we will run over and bring it back, I'll just wait until mine is fixed to finish the masks. I will have them all ready to go, then shouldn't take too long. The loaner is a Janome 6500 model. It sure runs smooth and quiet, but not to sure about all the computerized stuff. Mine has a digital computer thing just for the fancy stitches.
Our dog wanted to go out in the screen room this afternoon, Jim went with her, they didn't last but about 15 minutes too hot out ---she didn't ask to go again to sit in the screen room today.
Yes, many states have their people staying at home, have it here too, but can go out for groceries. Need to get to the drug store and get some supplies for my diabetes testing, got to check on the nnedles if I need any yet too.

Sunny and hot again today. We went on lock down as of last night. Mom had called her hair dresser about noon and she was working. All her clients cancelled today so mom decided she was going in. Wanted me to go with her. Had to tell her she can't go and that I wouldn't have enough money to pay the fine for getting caught out of the park. Guess sh didn't go.

We are all learning a new way to live...and when we come out of it we will all be living in a lot more healthy direction. There are some great silver linings to what we are seeing.

My husband and I went for a 2 mile walk and the rest of the day we have been in the house. I have been listening to books of CD and doing puzzles to keep myself busy. Will do some crocheting too. Lots of texting with my grown children and keeping up with what the grandchildren are doing at home around Washington state.

We have already cleared about 2 or 3 weeks of lockdown here in California. I usually do the same, either do things online or play my games.

I am retired and live in Florida. We have had a bunch of heat. It has been in the high 80's and low 90's. Yuk. I really don't care for summertime. It would be nice for a rain day. I am trying to stay busy riding my bike with my dogs when it's cool and just staying home and working on the farm. There are so many things that need done.

    Stay well, fellow Sparker,

    Nola
